Cherie Lancaster: A Life of Mission and Love

Born in the small town of Enid, Oklahoma, Cherie Lancaster’s story is anything but ordinary. By the age of five, she had already embarked on a life-changing journey, moving halfway across the world to Kenya, East Africa, with her missionary parents. It was there, between the vibrant landscapes and the spirit of service, that Cherie’s heart for helping others began to take root.

After a decade immersed in the beauty and challenges of Kenyan life, Cherie returned to the United States, where she would go on to meet the love of her life, Rodney Lancaster. Rodney wasn’t just any ordinary man—he was a musician in a traveling Christian band called Kinfolk. Four days after they said “I do,” the couple hit the road in a camper with eight other people, traveling up and down the East Coast, spreading messages of faith, love, and hope.

Life for Cherie has always been full, and her greatest blessings are her family. Together, she and Rodney raised five sons, each finding their own paths in life, and today, she is proud to call three women her "daughter-in-loves." Her family has continued to grow, and Cherie now delights in the joy of her six grandchildren.

But Cherie’s mission didn’t end when she stepped off the road. Her outlook on life is that of a true “missionary”—not one bound by location, but by intention. For Cherie, every person she meets presents an opportunity to bring kindness, encouragement, and love into the world. “I don’t need to go anywhere,” she says, reflecting on her ability to make a difference right where she is. To this point, In 2018, Cherie started her own business, Bosom Buddies Custom Fit Bras. With one to one personal measuring and sizing, Cherie views this as more of a ministry than a business, as she loves to connect with women to encourage them and help them feel their best.

In recent years, Cherie’s journey has come with its own challenges. Following multiple surgeries, she now uses a walker to move around. Yet, true to her resilient spirit, Cherie refuses to let it slow her down. Instead, she views it as another way to inspire others—proof that limitations are often only as powerful as we allow them to be.

Cherie Lancaster’s life is a testament to the power of faith, family, and finding purpose in every moment. Her story reminds us that being a light in the world doesn’t require grand gestures or distant travel. Sometimes, it’s as simple as touching the lives of those you meet every day.
